She teaches all over the East Metro through Life Time Fitness in addition to Drishti. Kathy has just wrapped up a teacher training with Johnny Kest.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000000;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:78%;"&gt; Eli's practice began two years ago, one day a week at a  nearby church. At first, yoga was nothing more than the asanas; as the months went on, it slowly became so much more. After enrolling in the Yoga Center of Minneapolis teacher training, he now practices almost every day, discovering his real love and fascination with yoga lies in pranayama, meditation, mantra, yoga nidra, and the more subtle energetic practices. Always into sports and very active, yoga  felt good. Now, yoga &lt;i&gt;can&lt;/i&gt; be a workout, but in a much more special way: "It is my center, my  therapy, my time to love and appreciate myself, inside and out. Yoga has  transformed my life in ways I never imagined. My journey has only just begun, and I cannot wait to join  you as begin or continue yours. By the end of the 6 weeks you will know the basics of Sun Salutations A and B, which contain a nearly complete yoga practice in themselves and will lay a solid foundation for you to take into any yoga class you might want to try. Plus some bonus moves for fun!

We focus on the Primary Series, or Yoga Chikitsa, meaning body therapy. While learning the postures is important, the cultivation of the breath is paramount to bring you into deeper contact with your True Self. The linking of breath with movement is the foundation of the tradition as it combines the three elements of Breath, Body and Mind. That is Pranayama, Asana and Drishti, or gazing points. As Lauri's teacher Matthew Sweeney says, "The breath is the vehicle by which the body and mind are observed, purified and transcended. It is through self-practice and self-observation that a non-judgmental attitude can be developed. The name is taken from the city in southern India where the guru of Ashtanga yoga, Sri K Pattabhi Jois, lived and taught. Mysore class is open to all levels, and, unlike more common led yoga classes, can accommodate absolute beginners, experienced yogis and everyone in between. Beginners are encouraged to try Mysore class. This class is not led; instead, all instruction is given individually. As strength, flexibility and stamina grow, the instructor provides additional postures and techniques.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
